complications(?) and pistoy at 18 weeks

i've been out of the www during after-office hours dahil ang aking dahilang laptop ay may virus. =( *ehem* maybe it's time to switch to a mac. hehe! alright. crib, kama at kotse muna. i guess i will have to be contented with an anti-virus for now. =)

there were a few things that's been going on with me, and hopefully, just with me and it won't affect pistoy.

my doctor had me take a blood test for Hashimoto's disease, a thyroid ultrasound, and a retake of the hormone level blood test. all because my thyroid hormones seemed to shoot up. i read somewhere that thyroid hormones generally increase during pregnancy, but maybe they found something unusual kaya they want to be cautious na lang din.

the Hashimoto's disease was negative. the ultrasound didn't show any nodules that might be triggering my increased hormone level. the results of the blood test retake is still pending. they just extracted the blood last july 15.

also on july 15, the nurse at the clinic was alarmed by the sugar level on my urine. everytime i come in for a visit, they make me pee in a cup and they check for infections or irregularities. i told the nurse that i had pancakes with syrup and sliced peaches before going there, hehe! but she was not convinced, so she decided to prick my finger and test for blood sugar instead. it was a little high, but not as bad as the urine sugar level. i might have to cut back on food with high fructose corn syrup, ehem, no-caffeine soda. hehe!

on the same day, we had the QUAD Screening Test. blood work din.

then we had the ultrasound. by this time, malalaman na daw ang gender ni pistoy! but we requested the technician not to tell us yet. we had her write it down on a piece of paper, and sealed in an envelope. we plan to open the envelope on August 11, our 5th wedding anniversary. =) i dunno if i can wait that long! je is getting extreme pleasure in baiting me to give in to opening the envelope. hehe! the wait continues!

in the meantime, eto ang latest pic ni pistoy... head to chest/waist lang, dahil bawal makita kung may birdie or wala. hehe!  kita na ang tenga nya. hindi sya masyadong gumagalaw nung ultrasound, pero parang nagsa-suck na sya. as in parang ngumunguya! ang takaw na bata! hehe!

just as we were walking to the elevator, my doctor came running after us and wanted to take a few more tests. she was concerened with my blood pressure. it was "elevated" daw. so they drew a couple more vials of blood from me (aw, c'mon, can't you use the other vials you just drew earlier?), and have me take the 24-hour urine test. in the 24-hour urine test, i had to collect ALL my wiwi within a 24 hour period. needless to say, it was my worst test so far. far, far worse than the 6 vials of blood they drew from me on my first test.

and as of this writing, it was so bad, dahil i had to retake the test. the nurse at the clinic apparently gave me the wrong container, may preservative na kasama. dapat daw yung plain container lang. ungh! take two pa, keinis. pwede bang yung ultrasound na lang ang i-take two?!

with all these going on with me, i can only hope and pray that pistoy is ok. right now, i don't really wish for a boy or a girl, just for pistoy to be healthy and unaffected.totoo palang iwiwish mo yon para sa anak mo. that, plus i gotta be good with myself din.
