6 weeks to go. parang ang bilis na lang!
with 6 more weekends to go, every weekend counts. kailangang may ma-cross out kami sa to-do or to-buy checklists namin every chance we get. parang nitong mga huling araw, may mga little things pang sumusulpot na di namin naisip dati.
like writing out thank you cards para sa mga nagbibigay ng stuff and gifts. we seriously didn't think na andaming makukuha ni pistoy na gifts! it's so heartwarming. =) i feel like we (mr.co-creator and i) did something really good to the world, for pistoy to be well-loved agad kahit di pa man din sya nakikita. *drama mode* as i always say, nasa tyan ko pa lang, spoiled na ang batang to. hehe!
anyway, i dunno how long i should wait before i buy the rest of the baby stuff. a part of me wants to get it over with. but there's also a part of me that says "wait for thanksgiving" dahil baka may sale. hehe! i'm being kuripot (and there's nothing wrong with that, hehe!), and being a little more sensible about money. after all, hindi biro ang mga susunod na purchases namin. especially with me missing 3 months' salary (well, ok, 6 weeks at a percentage, and 6 weeks with nothing at all), mas mararamdaman ata namin yung mga susunod na gastos.it's not like status quo lang din ang gastos namin eh, it will definitely spike too. dahil nandito sila mama, and with pistoy's stuff, medical expenses, and other new expenses, it's definitely going to be hard to ignore. hehe!
part of the reason why gusto ko na rin mamili is yung peace of mind na anytime lumabas si pistoy, ready na mga gamit nya. and that's gonna be one less thing on my mind. sa ngayon, not a day passes na hindi ko naiisip kung oorderin ko na ba yung car seat? or yung bassinet? or yung stroller? pano kung out of stock, should i go for the other designs? what if madeliver on time pero may sira at kailangang palitan? i don't ever want to see the day when pistoy is here, and i am stressing out dahil i was a day late sa pag-order sa gamit nya, when i have (as of this writing) 6 weeks to take care of it. actually, longer, dahil the stuff i've looked at were already on my online cart for a month now.
i need to consult with hubby je. meron pa rin kasing nagging feeling sa akin na what if mag-10% sale yung mga items na yon? sayang yung savings. pero ano nga ba, aren't we getting a good enough deal by buying online instead of the local stores? masyado na kong na-spoil ng discounts, and not having to pay retail price, that when i don't get a good discount, feeling ko may loss pa rin ako. hehe!
when's the best time to start, and eventually finish, baby shopping?

Harbs...now lang ako nakavisit kc locked yata tong blog mo. So much to read pero wla akong time isa-isahin. So d2 na lng ako magco-comment. And sorry for unsolicited advices. I thought these might help you:
ReplyDeleteFinish your shopping soon! Lalo na s mga major baby stuff like car seat/stroller, bassinet/crib/playard. Remember you'd still have to assemble these and double check to make sure it's properly assembled/installed.
Also, a wk to 2 wks before ka manganak, make sure all of your son's newborn clothing are washed already. You never know when he decides to see his parents :) My dear Sophia is a week and 3 days early. Related to this timeline, prepare the diaper bag & hospital bag. Leave them in the car (kung saan naka install na rin ung car seat nya). That way you don't have to worry about them when it's THE time. :-)
Mabilis lang ang 6 weeks hihihi...what you are feeling right now is called "nesting". Ganyan ako nun. I wanted the house to be clean and ready. Kaya pati garage floor and deck nilinis namin ng mom ko...lol...

next on my list, the hospital and diaper bag. ano bang mga nilagay nyo don? hehe! i found a checklist sa babycenter.com, pero parang ang konti lang.
Given our experience, shopping should be done soon.. After the baby shower preferably.. Hehehe =)
ReplyDeleteYung sa bag for the hospital, change of clothing nyo lang ni baby (with bonnet, socks and mittens) kasi pinoprovide na usually ng hospital lahat pati disposable underwear for the mommy! =D pati nga toiletries sagot na nila.. :)
Right about bonnets, socks, mittens, & newborn clothings, just bring an extra few just in case. May picture day si pistoy a day before you go home, so bring an outfit for that day. You may want to think about this: Hubby had to go back home to get some sensitive wipes (pampers brand) kc allergic si sophia sa nde sensitive wipes. Nagre-red ung bottom nya. ewan ko ba...glad we have some. Maybe the hospital has some, nde lng cguro ako nagtanong.
ReplyDeleteNOTE: Everything they will use kay pistoy mo, they will let you bring home. Including the aspirator, hairbrush, diapers/wipes, wash clothes, formula, etc...except yung hospital blankets ska crib nya lol =)
Yung bag mo, you may want to bring your own nightgown/house clothes pati sleepers, pd naman. Para mas feel at home ka. Dala ka ng toothbrush, patawa ang toothbrush sa hospital supppeerr soft at nauubos ung bristle pagkagamit mo hahaha. Make up kit din and deodorant. ;-)
was thinking of bringing our travel toiletries just in case. i read somewhere na pati damit ng daddy, magdala na kasi he will need to stay over din. it's good though na around 10-15 minutes away lang kami sa hospital. kailangan lang matutunan nila mama yung route. =)

Yap un n nga. Iuuwi mo yun lahat. Kung blue ung disposable washcloth na gagamitin ng hospital kay pistoy mo (dunno kung anu brand), iuwi mo yun and ask for more LOL...or ask kung san nabibili kc super ok to!
