andami nang nangyari since the new year. it's just been 10 days pero parang days run into nights and run into other days dahil wala na kami halos sense about time, mostly dahil sira ang tulog. hehe! especially for me, kasi di pa ko pumapasok sa trabaho, di ko alam kung anong day of the week na. hehe!
anyway, yesterday marked pistoy's first month! bumili si je ng carrot cake, pero dahil tulog si pistoy most of last night, di pa kami nakakapag-pic with the cake. hehe! ang arte kasi ng mga lolo't lola, gusto dilat si jecobie pag pi-picture-an!
- jecobie had his first bath nung new year's day! he liked it a lot, umiinat lang sya nung sinasabon, pero nung binubuhusan ng tubig, nanlalaki ang mata nya. hehe! sanay syang hinuhugasan ang pwet, and he likes it. pero siguro itong paligo, na-shock sya. hehe!
- i've been pumping breast milk for pistoy and we feed it to him sa gabi/madaling-araw. our theory is kung madaling madigest yung kakainin nya that time, he will fuss less, he might get less gas, ergo, more sleep for us all! hehe!
- speaking of fussiness and gas, we're thinking of switching from the lactose-intolerant formula to the alimentum type. napansin kasi namin, tuwing formula feeding, umiiyak sya. minsan di pa tapos yung bottle, umiiyak na sya, parang may discomfort. tapos he grunts a lot. parang laging umiire.
it's less pag pumped breastmilk ko ang iniinom nya. which lead us to believe yung type ng formula yon. ok lang kaya mag-switch na?
- lately din, medyo nagiging iyakin si pistoy. well, not really yung full blown iyak, pero ingit sya nang ingit. parang naaaburido. hehe! hopefully it'll pass. hindi naman ata sya colicky kasi he can be comforted eh. mas mahirap nga lang hulihin yung gusto nya lately. nakaka-frustrate minsan yung iyak nya, lalo na pag nauubusan na kami ng idea kung anong meaning ng iyak nya. *sigh*
sabi nga nila, this too shall pass.

ReplyDeleteNaku girl, kasumpa-sumpa ang gas (At Similac Advance) sa baby lalo na pag they are in real pain. iyak ng iyak, ayaw magpapababa. What worked for us nung nde ko pa naisip na magswitch ng milk: manzanilla 2x a day, bottle nya lalagyan ng warm water then papagulungin namin s tummy nya, bicycle exercise ng legs & padapa patulugin (sa chest mo). Naku one of this will surely work. hihihi
Btw, my pedia told me na whenever we change formula, usually around 2wks bago mo malaman kung talagang hiyang or nde nya ung new formula nya. Kase mag-a-adjust din ung tummy nila dun sa bago.
Good luck and good job sa breast feeding mo. At least jecobie is getting your milk kahit pano diba? hihihi...hats off to mothers who opted to BF. =)
naku, duza rin kami sa Similac Advance. nung simula ok naman sya don eh. pero after 2 weeks, namimilipit na sya after feedings. =( 2 weeks din bago naging ganon si pistoy sa Similac Sensitive. kaya ngayon, 2nd week nya sa Similac Isomil (soy), ino-obserbahan pa rin namin.
ReplyDeleteilang beses kayo nag-switch dati kay sophia, before nyo nahuli kung san sya hiyang? we're thinking of alimentum, pero hindi pa nirecommend ng pedia eh. i-try daw muna yung ibang standard formulas.
Follow mo muna advice ng pedia mo. Alimentum is the expensive one, kaya din cguro last resort nya to. Some babies ok kahit store brand. Pero pag tumagal tagal pa at nde pa rin ok si jecobie, change ka na ng formula. Bili ka lng muna nung 12 oz na nasa can para matry mo.
ReplyDeleteWe've tried Similac Advance, Earth's Best, Similac Isomil then finally Similac Sensitive (In that order). I take back what I've said about Similac Advance, kc Earth's Best gave her the worse gas ever pala! Sa sobrang iyak nya (kahit nagna-nap nagigising tapos iyak ng iyak), paos nya sya. I tell you girl, as soon as she let it out, she's back to being a happy baby. =) 1 day lng nya iniinom ung earth's best and I switched without informing my pedia (my bad!) Ayoko na kc maulit un episode na un. It's 2x harder for us mom to see our baby suffers.
The only reason why we switched to 'sensitive' kc 'isomil' made her poop a little pasty. Takot ako maging constipated sya so we switched after a few months (without informing my pedia -- I know, I am not a good example). In the end kc naisip ko, I know my baby better.
sabi nga ni patsy nakaka-constipate yung isomil. i guess kaya hindi pa constipated si pistoy kasi may breastmilk pa syang nakukuha sa akin. ang breastmilk parang may natural laxative, or at least kay pistoy ganon ang effect. =P
ReplyDeleteganyan din si jecobie! as soon as ma-pass nya yung gas, tahimik naman sya, patingin-tingin lang. kaya happiest sya pagkatapos mag-poop, kasi labas lahat ng gas pati jebs.
i'm calling our pedia to ask for stool test kung kailangan nya bang mag-alimentum. cost doesn't matter. kung mabibili ko ang comfort ng anak ko, i'd gladly splurge!
nakakatuwa nga si pistoy, parang natututo na syang umutot. nag-i-strain minsan, tapos todo concentrate, tapos tinataas pa nya yung isang leg nya. *lol* ayan, just trying to find some silverlining sa ordeal na to.

nacurious naman ako kung bakit puro similac.. hehe.. weve only been using enfamil kasi.. and so far we're doing good..
ReplyDeletesi eidan din pala.. marunong nang umire.. either for poop or passing gas.. i guess nafigure out na niya that it makes him feel better.. lol! =D
