infant shudder syndrome

i had a scare yesterday afternoon when pistoy started shaking while he's feeding.

dumedede sya and he's almost ready to doze off, when i noticed him shaking/shivering. hinawakan ko naman yung kamay at paa nya, mainit naman. hinawakan ko yung leeg at ulo nya to check his temp, normal naman din sa touch. hindi naman sya violent shake, and he didn't seem bothered by it, but it's disturbing to see.

i thought if hindi titigil in a minute, i'll drive him to the ER na. pero it stopped on its own after a few seconds. i checked his temp, 36 C, normal naman. i told je about it last night. i wasn't very worried after it happened kasi pistoy seemed fine, as if it didn't happen. but when je mentioned neurological issues, nagworry ako why i didn't do anything even after it stopped.

this is exactly how pistoy looked like. apparently, it's called the infant shudder syndrome.


i may sound like a bad mom, but i want to wait and see muna, before we run to the doctors. i don't want to put pistoy through unnecessary tests, kung wala namang treatment necessary. i just know the culture of fear ng doctors dito eh. they would rather have you tested for every single little thing, kesa may madiagnose sayo later and they get sued.


so pistoy is under observation right now. i'll mention it to his pedia na rin, just to be sure.
