tomorrow is my glucose test. i have a few more hours to do sprint-praying for the test to turn out negative. i seriously don't want to go on a diet. well, one that is not self-imposed, at least.
pistoy should be accumulating fat now. with the 25+ lbs gain i had from pre-pregnancy, saan napupunta yon if pistoy is not yet accumulating fat then?!
ever since we found out i'm "overweight" (this is the first time i've ever been called "overweight", dunno if i should be happy or sad), hubby je has been calling pistoy our (please use Elmer Fudd accent) "wittew pigwet". of course it might hurt his feelings, but i find it amusing din. hehe! who else can i "blame" for the weight gain but him? hehe! when i am eating a lot, i tell je, i'm already full, but pistoy wants to eat some more. hehe! he cannot defend himself yet. i might as well take advantage.
it's ironic that while i kinda worry about my glucose test tomorrow, i bought donuts this morning. well, wittew pigwet wants some donut. mommy doesn't have a choice. =P

goodbye glory days?
yesterday officially marked the start of my 3rd trimester.
i went out to lunch with Preggo#1 (see previous post), and she happily shared her stories of sleepless nights, 6-hour work days (because she "just can't go on nitro mode longer than another 30 minutes"), the general feeling of heaviness and tiredness.
maybe i will feel that in a month or two. but right now, i still feel good. i have days of feeling heavier than usual, and i do wobble while walking already. i feel more comfy leaning back a little while walking. it helps ease that feeling like i'm gonna fall forward, fall flat on my face. hehe! =P
i have to keep my exercise routine for as long as i can. i think it's helping me cope. i'm doing at least 20 minutes of 0.8 mph walking on the elliptical. i usually walk up to half a mile, and it chalks up to around 40 minutes, burning a hundred calories. i watch my heart rate though, i can't overheat. i'm good up to 135 bpm, but when i hit 140, i slow down. and when i can't talk anymore, that means i have to stop and catch my breath first. this seldom happens, but it does, when i'm not paying attention. hehe!
now that i am on my 3rd trimester, it's really time to start crossing out those items on our to-do list. time flies. we can't wait to meet pistoy! =D

momma friends from the office
last week, i went out for lunch with 2 of my officemates who are also preggos. Preggo#1 used to be in our team and i worked with her for a year (she also happens to be one of my fave folks at work!). Preggo#2 is just an acquaintance. we're all from the IT department.
since Preggo#1 didn't bring her car that day (she was dropped off by her hubby), and Preggo#2 got stuff at the back seat (they are moving to a new house kasi), we were left with no choice but to use my 2-door, lowered, bucket-seated car.
it was hilarious watching us get in and out of the car! it's like watching the circus. like that "how many clowns can fit in the car" type of thingy. =P
people were extra nice to us that day, seating us on the nicest booth, being extra prompt. and i dunno if it was just my imagination, but bigger portions too.
i was kinda guilty when Preggo#1 had a salad, and Preggo#2 had a veggie burger, while i had a humongous plate of cheese ravioli pasta with grilled chicken on top. may i justify my choice dish by saying that it's got sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, mushroom and i didn't ask for extra cheese on the cheese sauce? hehehe!
then we all indulged in a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. *grins*
it's nice to have people you know who are going through the same stuff as you are. i have friends who are also preggo, and having preggo officemates is a huge bonus. we get to talk about our company's maternity leave and short term disability leave policies, who to approach, who not to approach (hehe!) regarding those matters. they gave tips on how to update our elective insurance for next year (we're all giving birth this year), the paper works, including filing for SSN, our annual MBOs (which drives the rate of our salary raise and bonus), and the general work concerns. we all agreed that we should take the most time off of work... which is 12 weeks.
we have the same concerns, like who will take care of the baby when we go back to work. Preggo#1's mom will be here for a couple of months only. Preggo#2's mom lives near their new place, but is still working. my parents will be here for around 5 months, and after that, baka si bro naman ang pupunta. considering our situations, i think i will have it the easiest. we all have the same idea of getting to work by 7am so we could leave by 3pm. kailangan ko na atang mag-practice.
we exchanged personal contact details, and promised to be available for each other even at 2am in the morning. =P thank God for preggo officemate-friends! =)

baby steps on baby preps
i read somewhere that the first 2 hours after the baby's birth is the best time in establishing the breastfeeding "habit" sa kanya. and i didn't know that we have to specifically tell the staff sa nursery not to give pistoy water or formula sa bottle until makadede sya sa akin, para di sya ma-confuse or masanay agad sa tsupon.
it's not even up for discussion, i am determined to breastfeed for at least 3 months. sa maximum, siguro hangga't walang ngipin si pistoy? =B although some claim it doesn't become a hindrance kahit may ngipin na ang baby. natatakot lang ata akong mapanggigilan at makagat. hehe! siguro this is when the pumps are really gonna be very helpful. nagtanong na ko sa facilities dito sa office, may isang medical room malapit sa gym na pwede kong gamitin when pumping milk. it's a small room, pero may lock, may cot, at may sariling restroom, so ayos na rin. i'm gonna call it my "milking station". hehe!
we've started taking care of some paper works na rin for the hospital and for my office. then i suddenly remembered, kailangan ko na rin mag-file for naturalization/citizenship before things get really crazy. daming kailangang fill-up-an!
i've created a baby registry sa amazon.com, pero wala pang laman. i plan on following a checklist, pero yung iba don di ko alam kung kailangan ba talaga or dala na lang ng commercialization. like baby wipes warmer. pistoy is gonna be a winter baby, so maybe it is a need. ewan ko lang. di ba mabilis matutuyo ang baby wipes pag winawarm up? hehe! i don't think people follow baby registries, but they usually have promos that you could get the stuff left on your registry at 10% off. hehe! pistoy's gotta learn the trade. ;-) hubby je is a co-registrant, so i think i have to watch out if a 50" plasma tv makes it to the baby registry.
crib hunt is still underway. i'm thinking of getting one with wheels, para madali syang ilipat kung saan-saan. but aside from the wooden crib, we might get the portable one too, yung pwedeng i-fold na may mesh chuva. mama wants to be here pag bumili ng crib. it's just a matter of narrowing down the choices based on safety features and price, para mas madali na ang shopping.
ano ba pa, car seat. they have those stroller/travel system na parang 3-in-1 na. infant seat, carrier, and stroller. something tells me magiging lakwatsero itong si pistoy, kaya i might have to bump it up my list, lalo na't mahirap mag-shop dahil sa dami ng nire-recall at safety features na kailangang tignan. ang arte kasi dito sa US! sa pinas, kandungin mo lang, ok na. hehe!
it's only 87 days to go before pistoy's big day! pero parang wala pa kaming ginagawa. at the same time, i feel like i'm very busy. maybe i need to focus on one task and see it to completion. para naman may feeling of accomplishment ako.

tummy ache
we had a scare yesterday.
i had some sotanghon with sitcharo and shrimp for breakfast on saturday morning. kausap ko pa si mama habang kumakain. then nakaramdam ako ng sakit ng tyan, so we hung up at nag-restroom ako.
after the trip to the bathroom, masakit pa rin yung tyan ko. contractions. this time, super sakit na! buong tyan, and i didn't have that feeling of having to go. nahiga ako sa kama, namimilipit sa sakit. on and off yung sakit, and je was getting really worried. after half an hour siguro, i felt nauseated. i asked je for the garbage bin.
in a few minutes, tumatawag na ko ng uwak. my entire breakfast, gone. i was feeling miserable.
after a few more minutes, medyo bumuti na yung pakiramdam ko. but we called our doctor na rin to be sure. it took them 10 minutes to return our call (something we found kinda unacceptable). the doctor said i must've eaten something that didn't agree with my tummy. she told us to monitor the contractions within the next few hours. if it becomes often and won't go away, tawagan daw sya ulet.
since medyo bumuti naman pakiramdam ko, nakatulog ako. i woke up past 1pm, very hungry. so lumabas ako ng kuwarto and found some tikoy na niluto ni je. kumain ako ng 2 piraso. then sumakit na naman tyan ko. balik ako sa kama, namimilipit na naman. we jot down the time when i feel the pain, and how long it lasts. nakatulog na naman ako after a few minutes.
then i woke up at 4pm. this time, i'm really, really hungry. i ate some skyflakes and an apple na binalatan ni je. sumakit ulet once yung tyan ko. after that, mga minor contractions na lang. i went online and researched about tummy aches among pregnant women. if this is preterm labor, sabi sa guide na binigay sa amin, the pain will extend sa lower back or sa groin area. yung sakit na nararamdaman ko is just within the tummy. but i dunno. i can't really tell kung anong klaseng sakit nga ba to. di ko pa naman alam how real labor contractions feel eh. and every woman's got different pain thresholds. what doesn't hurt sa isa, might be intolerable pain sa isa. di ba? all i know is it hurts like hell! kung wala pa to sa labor contractions... juskolord, please help us! =D
that night, dumaan kami sa bday party ng sis-in-law ko. kumain ako ng 1 slice ng embotido, 1 slice ng lemon cake, 2 baso ng sago't gulaman, and a few spoonfuls of tiramisu. i had minor contractions ulet that night, but hindi naman nagtuloy.
since pistoy is still happily kicking inside me as of this writing, we suspected na baka nagkaron lang ako ng stomach flu or diarrhea. i am still watching what i eat. i had bread last night after coming home from the party, walang palaman. di muna ako nag-milk kagabi. this morning, i had bread ulet, with blackberry jam and with nutella. i've had a couple of mini-bottles of yakult na rin. puro water muna (except for the single sip of McDo iced coffee kanina after hearing mass, hehe!).
i was able to have a normal lunch today (sinampalukang manok, rice and binalatan na grapes for dessert), and no pain so far. *knock on wood*
i really hope wala namang ibang nangyayari sa akin. and i hope wala namang complications kay pistoy yung 1 day na halos wala akong kainin. this is one of the things na ang hirap sa pregnancy, yung paranoia. ok lang kung ako lang may sakit, wag lang madadamay si pistoy.

exersciatica
my sciatica condition chuva is easing up a bit now. i'm not sure if it's just because lumipas na lang din ang mga araw, or dahil nage-exercise na ulet ako.
nag-e-elliptical ako (almost, hehe!) everyday for at least 30 minutes. you would think nakakapagod na yon, pero walking pace lang ang ginagawa ko. i don't even make it a mile. hehe! at most so far is 0.8 miles. i would've let go of the elliptical at maglalakad na lang sana ako nang totoo, but it is soooo freakin' hot ngayon dito sa FL! lumakad nga lang galing sa kotse papasok ng bahay, pagpapawisan na ko eh. =P
pero napansin ko na simula nung nag-e-exercise ako, i sleep better at night. i don't wake up in the middle of the night, except pag tinatawag ako ng bathroom. hehe!
i am a little worried though, ok lang kaya si pistoy? he's usually quiet pag nag-e-exercise ako, and around 1-2 hours afterwards. shempre hinihingal ako ng konti, at pinagpapawisan. but the doc said as long as i'm not out of breath naman, ok lang.
i really hope this will pay off. i want to be as fit as i can be pagdating ng birthday ni pistoy. =P
speaking of pistoy's birthday, 95 days na lang! gaaah! it sounds sooo close pag may countdown. hehe!

pistoy's first stuff
i received a package from one of my mudra friends who's based in Taiwan. (shoutout, thanks Arvs! hehe!) i excitedly ripped the package open and found a nice little charms thingy, a couple of really cute tops (which i already wore this weekend, 1 when we went to orlando, and another for church... really cutesy and uber comfy!), and colorful pairs of cute little Mickey socks! awwwww. =)
the socks are officially pistoy's first stuff! we haven't bought a single thing for him. not even a pacifier, nor a blanket, nor anything remotely related to babies. =P we got stuff "lined up" for buying at our amazon cart, but we're still looking around and comparing stuff.
nakakatuwa looking at the cute little socks. we're gonna have little shoes, little tshirts, little pants, little shorts, little everything! bigla tuloy akong na-excite mag-shopping ng damit ni pistoy. pati mga little plates, little plastic spoons and forks, little stuff na parang naglulutu-lutuan lang. hehehe!
anyways, i will be taking pics of pistoy's first stuff. thank you again mareng Arvs! *hugs*
